A portrait of the painter Christiane Kubrick, in conversation with Jonathan Anderson.
Commissioned as short social content for a JW Anderson collaboration. Jonathan Anderson suggested a screening instead, so it became a film.
It premiered at Il Cinemino in Milan with MUBI, following JW Anderson's Men's AW24 and Women's Pre-Fall 24 show.
Christiane came to painting late. Born in Germany in 1932 into a theatrical family, she trained as a dancer and actress, met Stanley Kubrick on the set of Paths of Glory, and moved to England with the family in the late sixties — after which painting became the work.
