Director of photography, since the first show
RTS Technology Awards 2026 · Finalist
The Global Entertainment Awards Team is shortlisted for Collaborative Team of the Year. The entry is the show's and does not name us — we have been its director of photography since the first edition, and that is the whole of our part in it.

The brief
Make the ceremony itself. The awards are judged across four markets and six world regions, and the people being honoured are spread across all of them, so the show is built as a film rather than covered as a live event — presenters recorded at the host venue, every category cut around the work it is judging, and the whole thing delivered as one piece for an audience that mostly was not in the room.
What we ran
Every edition opens on a title film shot around the host venue — graded and letterboxed, the boardwalk and the dunes and the sea, a full minute before the ceremony starts. Jack shoots and cuts that himself, every year. The show proper is a terrace set at the resort: a large LED screen carrying the category graphics behind the hosts, guests watching from the deck in evening dress, and the pool, the palms and the coast left in frame rather than lit out. Coverage is multi-camera — a camera on sticks and a gimbal operator on the moving shots, with the red carpet and the sponsor board covered separately. Everything after that is assembly: each award a full-frame graphics package carrying the market, the category and the credits, with the nominated work playing inside the frame and the sponsor marks held throughout. Delivered at 1920×1080.

Result
Three consecutive shows are on this page and the running time has more than doubled across them — one hour fifty-three, then two twenty-eight, then four hours eleven. The format did not change; the number of awards it has to carry did. The awards put each show out on Deadline. Jack has been on it since the first edition, under the old name and the new one: director of photography on the show, and the person who shoots and cuts the opening title film and delivers the sponsor's promo every year.
