A careers film shot in a studio we built in their office
The brief
Intelligent Emotion had the careers brief for Aldermore and needed it produced. A recruitment film has an unusually specific job: somebody deciding whether to apply is looking for whether they would fit, so it has to survive being watched all the way through by an audience with a real reason to keep watching.
What we ran
Two days at their Manchester office, with a mobile studio we brought with us and built on site. That is the whole trick of this one. A recruitment film needs both halves — the real building, the real desks and the real light, so it is recognisably them; and a controlled background with controlled sound, so the pieces cut together and nobody is fighting an air-conditioning unit. The usual way to get both is to hire a studio for a second day and move everyone to it, which costs a venue, a travel day, and the goodwill of every person who has to leave work to be filmed. Carrying the studio up the M6 instead means the crew moves and the client does not.

Three and a half minutes is long for a promo and right for a recruitment film — somebody weighing up whether to apply has already opted in by the time they press play. It holds up over that length because it has both textures in it, and it has both because the studio came to them.
The creative stays yours. The production becomes ours.
